Philip L. Gregory, Esq.

For nearly 40 years, Phil’s practice has emphasized complex business and environmental litigation. Prior to starting his own firm, Phil was a partner with Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy LLP. He has also been a partner with Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley and with Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel, Inc.

Prior to these partnerships, Phil worked in-house for Spectra Laboratories, Inc., where he served as General Counsel; Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Affairs; and Corporate Compliance Officer. Phil started his legal career as an associate with Fenwick & West.

In 1976, Phil obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME, graduating magna cum laude in two majors: High Honors in English and Honors in Government. In three years, Phil obtained his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, graduating in 1980. Phil was Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Law Review, served on the Moot Court Honors Board, and represented the law school at the National Trial Competition. His Comment is “Executive Immunity for Constitutional Torts after Butz v. Economou,” 20 Santa Clara L. Rev. 453 (1980).

Phil Gregory (above) is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the Supreme Court of California; Courts of Appeal of the State of California; United States Courts of Appeal: Fifth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, District of Columbia; and Federal District Courts: Central District of California, Eastern District of California, and Northern District of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Santa Clara and San Mateo County Bar Associations.
